Key Benefits

Waxing has some great benefits especially in comparison to shaving, some of these benefits consist of finer regrowth and fewer ingrown hairs as the hair follicle is pulled out from the root and not chopped off closer to the root as is with shaving.

Waxing can give your skin a gentle exfoliation while giving you stubble free, less itchy skin. A benefit not to be forgotten too is there are no more shaving cuts!

Wondering if Waxing is right for you?

What is waxing?
Waxing is the process of removing hair follicles using a wax or a strip so that the hair has to regrow completely rather than having the hair only needing to partially regrow back such as with shaving.
Will the hair grow back thicker and darker?
No, your hair should not grow back thicker or darker, if anything it should grow more sparse over time as the hair follicle is pulled out again and again, so the root will become weak. This of course is dependent on how your hair grows.
How long will results last?
Waxing results on average should last for about 3-6 weeks, this is dependent on your personal hair growth cycle so results will vary from person to person. Generally speaking you should wait until your hair has regrown to be about 6-12mm, approximately the size of a grain of rice.
Is Waxing Painful?
Yes to waxing can be mildly painful, how much pain there is can depend on your individual pain threshold. As the hair is pulled out from the root it will definitely be more painful than shaving where the pain is minimal to non-existent. Repeated sessions should lessen the pain of waxing as you become more accustomed to it, the pain should also be quite short and not persist for long.
Are there any side effects?
There are some side effects from waxing that you may experience. Although there should be fewer ingrown hairs they can still occur and is something to look out for. The pain associated with waxing is in-essence another side effect, others you may notice are: redness, minor rashes and temporary bumps. Taking care of your skin after waxing is important and if it feels particularly tender an ice pack may help to relieve some tenderness.

before your wax you can take 1-2 paracetamol prior to coming to your appointment if you feel you may be in pain.
